The campaign is running in LUSH stores around the motu, with a focus on stopping bottom trawling in Māui and Hector's dolphin habitat. With fewer than 50 Māui dolphins remaining, the species is critically endangered.

Pop in, pick up a Māui soap, and sign our petition at a LUSH store:

Natalie Jessup, General Manager of Tāngaro Tuia te Ora, says the in-store campaign helps translate concern into action.

"To see Māui dolphins featured so prominently in stores is powerful. It helps people understand what is happening beneath the surface of our oceans, and why this taonga species is at such serious risk. These displays open the door for conversations that enable people to take action, from signing the petition to sharing this important kaupapa with others."

Aotea Apiti of Moana Rāhui o Aotea says the campaign helps connect people more directly to the issue.

"When people encounter this in everyday spaces, it brings the reality of what is happening in our moana closer. The displays create a moment to pause and understand what is at stake for Māui dolphins, and what collective action can look like. This is about ensuring people know there are ways to stand alongside these species, and that every action contributes to their long-term survival."
