Restoring our Moana: Community Connects for Oceans and Endangered Māui and Hector's Dolphins
On Thursday 30 October, Tāngaro Tuia te Ora – Endangered Species Foundation hosted a screening of Oceans, by David Attenborough, at Te Whare Taonga – the Waikato Museum. The evening brought together trustees, advisors and people from across the motu who care about the future of Aotearoa's marine life.

Hundreds of Sandcastles, One Message: Protect Our Ocean
Four hundred and eighty-five people gathered at Ruakākā, Te Akau Bream Bay last weekend to send an important message: some treasures are too precious to mine. The event, organised by the Bream Bay Guardians, broke an unofficial world record for the most people making sand sculptures simultaneously, surpassing the previous record of 396 set in Belgium.

Caring for Awa, Caring for Each Other – Rekindling Our Connection to Water at Bupa St Andrews
On 14th October, residents of Bupa St Andrews came together for an Awhi Awa workshop, led by Natalie Jessup, GM of the Endangered Species Foundation. The focus was on how we can all help restore the health of our waterways to create safe habitats for some of Aotearoa’s most endangered species.
