The Endangered Species Foundation, alongside other leading New Zealand conservation organisations, has written to Prime Minister Christopher Luxon demanding the immediate withdrawal of a controversial proposal that would weaken protections for vulnerable deep-sea coral ecosystems in the South Pacific.

Tāngaro Tuia te Ora, the Endangered Species Foundation, has submitted in opposition to the Government's proposed Planning Bill and Natural Environment Bill, warning that the reforms risk accelerating New Zealand's biodiversity crisis while undermining Te Tiriti o Waitangi partnerships.
